SAVING THE CINEMA

Looking for a place to go see a movie one night, my friend Nico and I found out a local historic movie theater was on the brink of closure. Not on our watch. Upon checking out the foundation website, one thing was very clear: that (in addition to millions of dollars) they were going to need some serious creative help if they wanted to save this place. We quickly assembled a small team of other creative buddies and reached out to offer our services. Since then, we’ve provided them with sleek new branding, a new website, and a new creative campaign to save the cinema.

BRANDING

FLYERS
To get the word out the old fashioned way, we printed off over 700 flyers in a variety of designs — some by me, some by our designer Madison — to post up all around Newton and the Boston area. These are mine.

THE CAMPAIGNCopywriter Tim North and I concepted a guerilla campaign to target movie lovers. We created three fake movies to capture people’s attention and imagination, inviting them to explore a world in which the magic of a local independent cinema can endure for generations to come.
